For a few hours, Skype is officially a member of the group at Microsoft. The software giant issued a statement, which announced the completion of the acquisition, approximately six months after the first agreement between the two companies.Within this period, the agreement was approved by the boards of both companies and the supervisory authorities that control for any effects of distortion of competition. The green light for the takeover was six days ago, announcing substantial completion of the deal. The amount paid by Microsoft's $ 8.5 billion, well above the market value of Skype.
Skype will operate as fully independent piece within Microsoft and until recently CEO Tony Bates will be the Chairman of the Board and will therefore give directly to Steve Ballmer. The Bates said that the aim of Skype is to have one billion users every day. The figure, however, is astronomical, but with Microsoft to "put back" and can be feasible goal.
