The AMD claims that he broke the world record in overclocking processors, sending the frequency of an unreleased FX (Bulldozer) to 8,429 GHz. Thus, the company "to whet the appetite" of everywhere overclockers, view traffic Bulldozer.
The team of overclockers consisted of Sami Maekinen, Brian Mchlachlan, Pete Hardman, Aaron Schradin and Simon Solotko. Different cooling methods were tested and all had satisfactory results. The team moved into the region of 5GHz with air cooling and liquid cooling, while phase-change cooling rose to 6GHz. Then tests were carried out with liquid nitrogen and finally mobilized the liquid helium, so the clock stopped at 8,429 GHz.
Please note that the record was a processor with two cores active.
All sounds very promising, but we should wait for independent testing overclockers before removing his hat to AMD on the capabilities of its new processors.
