New technology brings even more subtle touch screens

About Osram Opto Semiconductors has developed a new type of infrared LED, which can be used in conjunction with sensors to create ultra-thin touch screen.

We've seen him used infrared technology in touch screens, such as Microsoft Surface and more recently in e-readers from Barne & Noble and Kobo.

However, the technology has the Osram sufficiently developed to support and multitouch tablet, while reducing significantly their thickness.

With a diameter of only 0.45 nanometers diodes and sensors can easily "squeeze" in a wreath around a screen and using only 35mW, and under normal conditions.

Now the only thing the company is to convince manufacturers to use and its product.
