The so-called Rule of Law Bode and Bode is one of the most important theoretical discoveries of Johann Bode in honor of which bears the name by which made important discoveries in our solar system. It was 1772.
Bode Law
Under this law if we consider the
following a series of numbers 0, 3, 6, 12, 24, 48 ...., which each of them except the first one is double the previous and add them to the number 4 then we have the numbers 4, 7, 10, 16, 28, 52 .... Now if these last numbers divide each result by 10 the numbers: 0.4, 0.7, 1.0, 1.6, 2.8, 5.2, ..
This series of numbers is his famous law of Bode, where each provides roughly the distance of planets from the Sun is at the point 0 and 1 the distance of Earth from the Sun, considered "unit Bode law.
So depending on the position 0.4 is the location distance of Mercury from the Sun, box 0.7 Venus in section 1.0 (point of law) the Earth, corresponding to 150 million km, while in positions 1 , 6, 5.2 and 10.0 correspond in order of the distances of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
According to the laws or rules that these recoverable detail in the following table report:
.. 0 + 4: 10 = 0.4 Hermes
.. 3 + 4: 10 = 0.7 Venus
.. 6 + 4: 10 = 1.0 Earth
.12 + 4: 10 = 1.6 Mars
.24 + 4: 10 = 2.8 - gap - (asteroids)
.48 + 4: 10 = 5.2 Jupiter
.96 + 4: 10 = 10 Saturn
192 + 4: 10 = 19.6 Uranus
384 + 4: = 10 38.8 Neptune (not agree with the actual) and
768 + 4: 10 = 77.2 Pluto (not the actual line).
Notes
The distances of the planets that rule consistent with the real than those of Neptune and Pluto.
Also at a distance of 2.8 am was not aware of any planet or asteroids known, nor over the other planets Saturn. But on January 1, 1801 there was discovered quite accidentally the first "small planet" Ceres is 1 which was followed by about 1600 even that was not other than the asteroid, believed to come from now that crushing another unknown planet.
This Law is known even called "Series of Bode. Also, because given time and by the astronomer Titious, place and name "Titious-Bode Law.
Comments
What is the physical cause that explains the relationships of numbers in the series Bode, which undoubtedly is empirical, the actual distances of planets from the Sun, has not yet been established. In 1949 the astronomer Vaitseker expressed a view that is very theoretical but having regard to the big bang without a very clear
