HOW DOES THE COMPASS OF THE VIKINGS!

A 'magic' compass seems to have the Vikings, allowing them to travel at sea driven by the sun and not stars.
The compass was a stone supports two scientists from Eotvos University in Budapest and Lund in Sweden .....
It was a
"Iliopetra" a kind of transparent calcite that could attracts the sunlight, even through the fog, leading to "betray" the position of ilioustous travelers not to deviate from their course.
According to «Nature», the two scientists (Gabor Horvath and Susan AKES) trying since 2005 to confirm an old legend which said that the Vikings could be directed to maritime adventures with the help of a stone showed them the door.
From 750 until 1050 AD, the Vikings were able to upload thousands of miles to Iceland, Greenland and even farther off the coast of North America, as supported by recent studies.
These trips could be risky to perform even when the sky was dark, there was fog or snowing without direct visual contact with the stars.
Both experts say that it was this stone, which operated a natural phenomenon, the polarization of light, and depending on the location in which to keep someone could "shine" more or less, indicating the location of the sun.
Even when the sky was dark.
So no need to travel by calculating the path from the position of stars.
